Zeticon was founded in 2011 as a spin-off company from Comsof and Ghent University/iMinds. With its Media Asset Management products called MediaHaven, Zeticon offers a versatile solution for Media Asset Management for customers in the broadcasting industrie, corporate environments and public sector. MediaHaven allows to store and manage digital media files in a secured and accessible way. To accomplish this MediaHaven offers an advanced search engine to search and retrieve content from the platform. MediaHaven is Zeticon’s Media Asset management platform that allows to store and manage digital files in a secured and accessible way. Although all file formats can be stored, the system is particularly build to handle also video files, which are the most demanding in terms of capacity and accessibility. Currently, players from the Belgian media sector like SBS (2channels), Prime (16 channels), Njam, 8 use the platform as their asset management system. Also within the scope of the “Vlaanderen in Beeld” project, MediaHaven was used as underlying platform for storage and making the Flemish archive accessible in a user friendly way. The MediaHaven platform is currently used as the platform of choice for the “Beeldbank der steden en Gemeenten” where local governments use the platform for managing and exposing their media archives.
Zeticon is a partner in the LeYLab Living Lab where it brings its expertise with regard to Media Asset Management and Media Streaming into the project.
Zeticon brings in it’s MediaHaven platform into the project and will maintain and operate the MediaHaven installation. Furthermore, the API’s and changes necessary for other parties to build and create new applications or wish to integrate will be developed. Furthermore Zeticon will offer consultancy and support services to the (project) partners who will make use of the MediaHaven platform.
