The Creative Ring, a new experimental community for sharing creative contents all over Europe, was present at New Frontiers for European Entrepreneurs, an event focused on SMEs, innovation and entrepreneurship held in Brussels at the EGG on April 29th, 2014. The Creative Ring was invited to be part of the Creative Industries strand, one of the main sections of the programme co-organised by Europeana Creative, Cluster 2020 and as already stated the Creative Ring (see a selection of pictures).
During his introductive speech Simon Delaere (iMinds) officially launched the Ring, showed its new structure composed of hubs, partners, tools and projects and highlighted how this aims to bring together creative industries in a community of communities fostering interconnected and ICT-supported incubation centres.
Fabio Antonelli (Create-Net), Alain Heureux (the EGG) and Artur Serra (i2Cat) then presented the three hubs based in Trento, Brussels and Barcelona, respectively. They introduced their local activities and the way these physical spaces make entrepreneurs, apps and creative communities converge.
The session was also the occasion to learn more about appealing initiatives like Europeana Creative and Cluster 2020 and start considering potential possibilities of cooperation.
During the conclusive plenary session Alain Heureux underlined how the Creative Ring can contribute to link creative start-ups, SMEs and entrepreneurs in Europe supporting both their local and international business.
