The workshop on “Cocreation, distributed performances and alternative content for the big screen” took place in Barcelona on 10 and 11 November 2014. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Catalonia, the Fundació I2CAT and the Institut del Teatre, and 85 people with different profiles attended: they included artists, cultural managers, programmers and other specialists.
A total of 17 contributions from speakers from England, Holland, Italy and Catalonia were scheduled. It was the first time that artists from different countries experimenting with cocreation and telepresence met face-to-face, sharing methodologies, expressive languages, ideas and thoughts on projects and challenges for the future. The workshop also enabled those present to explore the future of cinemas through the diversification of roles and programming, and the impact that the broadcasting of cultural productions may have on this field.
The attendees were given a bibliographical selection of papers and case studies that explore this creative sector. Some speakers who participated in the workshop emphasized the value of being able to publish the papers that were presented in Barcelona.
